I kind of want to start

using my blog as a place to upload sketches and artsy works. I am honestly starting to feel less and less inclined to share my artwork on more community based places – mostly due to the constant feeling of self entitled idiots!

I recently did another Art Trade, my first one in a while after some sour feelings, and they post their half first. I am pleased, leave a nice positive comment – which was returned with someone asking for a specific pose and details for their half. I’d be fine with this, if that’s what I had given them, but they’d drawn my character flirting with one of their characters – which is already spoken for by another of their own characters. I know it’s all very silly and a minor thing, but I’m not about to have something that I find fun dictated to me like that. That’s called a commission; besides, I already got most of it done.

I’m all for giving like for like in trades.

I don’t know, I just feel all very negative about the whole art trading and being a part of a bigger community with art at the moment and while I know I could use a Tumblr or a twitter account to share everything with, I feel it’ll also give my blog a bit of a direction as well – which it has been lacking lately. It’s a shame really, because other than trades going sour I’ve been really enjoying drawing again. It’s been great to be able to reconnect with people and share doodles and sketches with them. (And even better to see theirs too.)

I will undoubtably miss a lot of having a wider community though, the nice feedback, the feeling of being a part of something bigger and the seeing what other people do. I feel like it’s a big decision right now and I am feeling somewhat unprepared in making it. Maybe a bit of a break will just do me some good?
