Prior to this model I’ve often painted miniatures in batches. Getting them base coated and then washed ready for layering sometime in the distant, fat future. All this has done is ended up in leaving me with a pile of based and washed miniatures to finish off. I thought I’d try a different approach and see how painting and finishing one miniature at a time would go.
I picked up the Sergeant for my Assault Intercessors from the Indomitus box-set and give him a go. It feels like the first Miniature I have painted in a while time and certainly the first Space Marine in a loooong time!
Thankfully, it doesn’t look too bad here, but his face is a bit shiny from the Reikland Fleshshade wash – not sure what made it go so shiny so will have to go digging for some information on that.

Very nice, Jenn! 🙂 Good idea just picking a single figure to do – sometimes I do the same thing for test figures before starting the rest of a unit!

For me, it just feels nice to be looking at a fully finished model. It might get a bit boring for larger units, though!

Did you use Reikland Fleshshade gloss? That might be the culprit…

I don’t think it was a gloss wash, but I shall double check before I use it again!
