3W Wednesday – 19th Jan

What are you Reading?

A Flicker in the Dark – Stacy Willingham

One of my outstanding NetGalley requests about the daughter of a serial killer, her mental health issues, and the fact that it’s all coming around again. A rather interesting read so far, that I am roughly 20% of the way through and am waiting for it all to really kick-off. It’s a good reach so far with some interesting characters developing that I’m looking forward to reading more about.

What did you read last?

The Primarchs – Christian Dunn

Slowly getting through the Horus Heresy series and a full review of this book is pending. (I only have about 10 more pages to read) I’ve enjoyed this book as I feel like it has bridged a few gaps, filled in some blanks, and generally fleshed out the story and setting. It’s made me eager for what’s to come and I hope that Dave and I get to read some more of this series soon. You can read Dave’s review of the book here – for once he beat me to it!

To be honest, I don’t really have a clue! I can feel a bit of a reading slump coming on so I might try and pick up a few ‘easy reads’ and hope that it passes quickly. I might try the next Sharpe book or try something light-hearted or gory. I can’t decide!

  1. Uh oh, a reading slump! Quick, head it off, head it off!

Just because it seems like a complete change from what you normally read, I’d recommend the Nero Wolfe mystery series. Try the first one to see if it hits your mood or not.

    • I’ll try my best! I’ll keep pushing away at my reading lists and see how far I get!
I think it was that last story in the anthology that was holding me back… ugh!

Always happy to have a recommendation though, I’ll see if I can dig up a opy from somewhere, thanks!
