What are you reading?

The Thousand Eyes – A.K. Larkwood

This is one of my NetGalley approvals, released mid-Feb. It’s actually the second book in a series, which I didn’t realize when requesting, so we shall see how I get on with it. The synopsis made it sound pretty interesting, so I am looking forward to seeing what it is all about.

Could you sacrifice your dreams to escape a nightmare?

The cover looks pretty too, which is usually enough to sell a book to me! I’ve not started it yet, as I only finished my previous read the night before, I’ll be sure to let you know how it goes.

What did you read last?

Snap Shot – Josie Jaffrey

I get regular newsletters from author Josie Jaffrey after coming across her website and Snap Shot was mentioned in her latest one. It’s a short story of a dystopian utopia with a focus on two people living there – Sarah and Richard, who are seemingly linked by a mysterious feeling when they meet. The society runs on two different levels, sunshiners, who work on the surface, and D-Defs, who dwell below.

It’s only 38 pages long and if you can spare the 99p, I really recommend it. Not only is it a great story – which I’ll review properly soon – but gives a great insight into Josie Jaffrey’s writing style.

I have another Josie Jaffrey book to read and after reading Snap Shot, I’ll be picking that book up (May Day) in the near future.

If not Fear to Tread, then Sharpe’s Gold.

What else?

Please excuse me for standing on my soapbox and using you as a captivated audience. I have recently branched out a bit from here and started a blog/website for my photography. It’s all pretty new but I felt like I needed a space away from this site to explore this craft a bit more again. I’m intending on taking things slow and using a separate space to document my photography and keep myself inspired and encouraged.

This doesn’t mean I am neglecting my book reading, just filling in some blanks that I’d only have procrastinated in!
