What are you reading?
I’ve literally just finished my previous read and am looking for a quick refresher before going onto another big and serious book. The Orc Run by Poppy Kildare will fit the bill nicely! I’m not expecting anything ground-breaking from this book as the blurb mentions the word tribute, but we shall see. It might be the Orc Smut book to surprise me! What I find astounding about these books is how dreadful all the front covers of them are! There’s nothing ambiguous about them. You know you’re going to be reading hot and steamy words involving orcs… There are another two books in this series as well, but at only 31+ pages each, they’re not exactly going to be time consuming – just what I need!

What did you read last?
The Witcher – Time of Contempt – Andrzej Sapkowski
I shamelessly forgot I was meant to be reading this through as part of a buddy read with Spalanz, Wordaholic Anonymous and Book Drunkard. So I powered through it real quick. The other Witcher books have felt a bit hit and miss for me, this one had it’s challenges too, but I think I am getting into the overall flow of the story now and am looking forward to picking up the next one when everyone is ready (I’ll try not to forget this time too!) I’ll hopefully get a full review up in the next couple of days.
What will you read next?

Perturabo: The Hammer of Olympia – Guy Haley
I’m not a huge fan of Perturabo. I’m not even that keen on Guy Haley as an author. I feel like torturing myself.
In all honesty, I’ve fallen out with Warhammer a bit over the past few months and feel like I need to beat myself back into it. The rest of the Primarchs series has been pretty good and the books aren’t too long either, so even if I hate this one, I won’t be reading it for that long! The other novels of these that I’ve particularly liked have been the proper origin stories, which I think this one is. So theres hope yet!
What else?

This month saw my 9th year anniversary with WordPress. It’s incredible having a blog for that long. I can see how my life shifts and turns over the years and looking back over the archives is always a hoot! So, I’ll be raising a glass to the blog tonight and looking forward to another year of solid WordPress.com blogging!
This next bit is just a bit of a giggle, really. Earlier this year I stumbled into a sub-genre of books that I never even knew existed. Orc Erotica. I’ve laughed about it a lot since discovering it with a whole bunch of different people. Now… Eternal Bookcase is ranked 3rd on Google, behind Tumblr and Ao3 when you search for Orc Smut!

Honestly, I couldn’t be more proud of my little place on the web. Eternal Bookcase has had a few different names over the years, but it’s always been somewhere I have felt comfortable and happy being myself and sharing the strange, bizarre things that I get up to. And, now, the dodgy books I read and get ranked for!
Have a great week everyone~
